While snow is not something we typically see here in San Diego, the kids do love to pretend! I thought it might be a nice change of pace, for me as well as for them, to let the kids pick out what to put in to our snowy sensory bin.
First, we talked about what snow looks like and how it feels - or, rather, how we assume it feels! Then we walked around the house to examine and pick out various materials that we might be able to incorporate into our bin. Here's what we came up with and how we did it:
Sometimes its fun to just set up some art supplies for the kids and get out of the way. Today we did just that with crayon and tempera paint. The results are beautiful, if I do say so myself!
